The glory days of Turku Castle ended in the late 17th century, but the luxurious lifestyle continued among the elite few.
Gateway to the west for passenger traffic
Turku harbour, or the Port of Turku, has good ship connections to the west. Viking Line and Tallink Silja have daily morning and evening departures from Turku and Stockholm. The ships stop by Åland on the way and stay only for a little more than an hour at the harbours where they turn.

Interior designer Carin Bryggman 100 years
Carin Bryggman worked mainly in Turku and she was the most sought-after interior architect in the city in the 1950–80s. Her most long-term and cherished design project was Turku Castle. She participated in its renovation for an extensive period of time, from the 1940s all the way to the 1990s.
Turku Castle is open for prebooked visits. A maximum of 10 visitors are admitted to the Castle at a time. Prebooking is required. Visiting times begin every two hours.
The entrance fee is paid on arrival at the Castle. Please pay by card, since we don’t accept cash payments due to COVID-19.
